What the Audio Converter does
The TSG Audio Converter re-encodes your track into the format a distributor, label, DJ pool or client asked for - without leaving the browser. It runs a full FFmpeg build compiled to WebAssembly, so the same conversion engine used by professional command-line workflows executes locally on your machine.
Because the file never leaves your device, there is no upload wait, no queue and no server that keeps a copy of your unreleased music. Large WAV masters that would take minutes to upload to a web service start converting immediately.
You control the output format, the sample rate and, for lossless targets, the bit depth. The converter reads the true technical properties of your source file from its headers first - real sample rate, real bit depth, channel count and duration - so you can see exactly what changes before you convert.
- Convert to WAV, MP3 320 kbps, FLAC, OGG Vorbis or AAC 256 kbps

Audio Converter - frequently asked questions
Is this audio converter really free?
Yes. There is no account, no credit system, no watermark and no file limit per day. The conversion happens on your own computer, so there is nothing for us to bill.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The converter loads an FFmpeg WebAssembly engine into the browser and processes the file locally. Your audio never leaves your device, which matters for unreleased material.
Does converting WAV to MP3 lose quality?
Yes - MP3 is a lossy format, so some information is discarded. At 320 kbps the difference is inaudible to most listeners on most systems, but you should always keep the original WAV or FLAC as your master.
What format should I send to my distributor?
Most distributors ask for a 16-bit or 24-bit WAV at 44.1 kHz. Some accept FLAC. Never send an MP3 as a master - stores re-encode it a second time and the artefacts stack up.
What is the difference between 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz?
44.1 kHz is the CD and streaming standard for music. 48 kHz is the standard for video and broadcast. Convert to 48 kHz when your track will sit under picture.
Should I use 16-bit or 24-bit?
Work and archive in 24-bit for the extra headroom. Deliver 16-bit only when a store or client explicitly asks for it.
Can I convert FLAC to WAV without losing quality?
Yes. Both are lossless, so the conversion is bit-for-bit transparent as long as you keep the same sample rate and bit depth.
How large a file can I convert?
Up to 150 MB, which comfortably covers a long 24-bit WAV master. Very large files depend on your device's available memory.
